Blue Lagoon

The most popular anchorage in the Latchi area is the Blue Lagoon with its brilliant turquoise waters as clear as a swimming pool.

Blue lagoon locates the picturesque coast, this bay is perfect to an anchorage. In the summertime, there are a lot of tourist boats coming.

Anchorage:

You can anchor in about 6 meters over clear sand.

Facilities:

There are no facilities at the bay, but the roads and trails of the Akamas peninsula are lovely, and you can stroll and hike in this area.

At the western side of the bay in about 4-6 mile, you can find Fontana Amorosa.

Recommendations:

During the summer season, the bay tends to be busy and hassled due to tripper boats (big and small). The floating buoys belong to the charter tripper boats. The best time to sail there and avoid the crowd is in the evening when the charter boats leave until the next morning.

Things to do:

It is a sheltered bay where the water tends to be warmer, and the sandy bottom gives the sea that magical turquoise color and is also a perfect spot for snorkeling and diving, where you can see a variety of fish and swim in this transparent water.

There are lots of shells and other aquatic life on the sea bed. Explore the rocks around the edges and around the island. The Blue lagoon bay has an island in the middle.

Caution: Don’t try to sail between the island and the land. There’s a shallow reef under the water.
