Potamos

Potamos in Greek means River. Potamos Bay belongs to the seaside village of Liopetri. Potamos is a sea estuary, quite long and winding. On its shore are two fish taverns. The village itself is not located on the coast.

Locals come to Potamos Bay for lunch and dinner. This is a sure sign that you can count on quality cuisine, but not exquisite.

Real seafood, familiar to Cypriots, can be tasted here.

Anchorage:

Potamos anchorage will protect from the strong wind with a southerly component, but in total — it is not well sheltered. The fishing shelter was built on the river place that might be a river in the rainy season.

Facilities:

You can find Wi-Fi in the restaurants, the strongest WiFi is from "Demetrion" restaurant.

Recommendations:

It is better to avoid berthing there. The best way is to anchor well off in 3 to 5 meters over rock and sand. The bottom is uneven and shallows well offshore. Check and oversee your depth sounder.

Things to do:

It provides a quiet cove for the local fishermen and it is also a place where you can get fresh fish right off the boat or enjoy a meal at one of the local taverns.
