Western Cyprus is extending from the UN buffer zone east of Pomos to the base of the Akrotiri Peninsula. Harbours that are suitable for mooring in all-weather conditions are Latchi in the north and Pafos in the south. Depending on weather conditions, you can find good anchorage at Pomos, Aphrodite's Beach, Blue Lagoon, Geranissos, Lara Beach (outside of turtle season), Coral Bay, Timi, Pissouri, and Avdimou.

The relevant restrictions have been imposed by an Order of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus which declares the ports of Famagusta, Karavostasi and Kyrenia as closed for all vessels.
